I remember the Rakshabandhan (name of a festival) of the childhood. I used to be very excited since the very morning thinking that both of my hands would be covered by Rakhis ('rakhi' is a piece of string which tied by sisters on the wrist of brothers as a custom in a popular festival) today. Also, some of the girls from neighbourhood would also bind thier rakhis.on my wrist. I used to show my hands fully covered with rakhis to my friends as if I had conquered some fort. For gifting to sisters, mother was all help to give me some money. At that time, some sort of bargaining was incumbent on the issue of the amount of money. Mother's contention would be to give one rupee each to sisters whereas I would be audacious enough not to subdue below rupees five for each sister. sometimes if father or maternal uncle were caught in sight, they also could not escape without giving me money for this. I was well aware about the importance of rakhi though in a pattered manner. I had plenty of time.with me. Today there is no scarcity of money in terms of fulfilling the monetary obligation on rakhi. Though neither I have time to reach my sister nor she has to come to me. Both of sisters have sent her rakhis through post. I have got the rakhis tied on my wrist with the help of some person here. Have talked over phone with all of my two sisters and my rakhi festival is complete. From where to where I have reached. Well, by the way, that memory just stroke my mind and I jotted down the same for you.
