We shall create awakening of Bajjika ...!
Bhagwat Sharan Jha 'Animesh' |
The condition of regional languages of Bihar is very strange. More or less, their problems are also similar. No doubt, regional languages have also tasted fruits of development but in this journey of development, the condition of Bajjika is pathetic. The growth of Bajjika is inhibited. If you see the state of affairs of Bajjika which has been integral part of the identity of Bajji or Bajjikanchal the witness of republic system. your eyes will start spilling waters. Your mind might get highly enraged but the whole isse reduces only to such a point. The concern for Bajjika in the mind of Bajjika speaking people is very little. Almost negligible.
We do not have any love to the dialect used by our mother. This is the irony. The tongue used by the farmers and labourers of Bajjikanchal has no value to our mind. We are always in search for an opportunity to neglect the language which is the voice of the men attached with their motherland. This is wrong. It is necessary to to have respect for someone who belongs to our family before trying to come under the awe of others. No problem in fancying to learn English and French, though it does not mean that you should do away with your dialect Bajjika. The way you can express in your regional language, you can't in other language.
"The plate is 'kharkhattal' (gruffly layered with refuse)" you can't express this exactly in other language. Every language has it's own nuances. The dialects have their own peculiar beauty. The inherent nuances and refinement of Bajjika can only be appreciated by a heart that truly loves Bajjika. When you listen to Sharda Sinha's song "Jagadamba ghar me diyara baar ailee he" (I have just illuminated the house of Goddess of the world) then you would come across the simply pure form of this language.
"Hamara Ram-Lakhan duno jori ke ban me ke bhejalak ge maai" (O God! Who sent my adored pair of Ram-Lakhan to the forest?)
Every ritual songs of Bajjikanchal is in Bajjika. If we do not save Bajjika then our accumulated traditional values will get lost. We can discover ourselves best in our own language. The truth and dreams of Bajjikanchal will be resplendent fully only in Bajjika. It is impossible to grow once we are alienated from our roots. Dear fraternity! It's high time we come back to our roots. It's high time we come to our Bajjika. Do give up your diffidence. Just try to jot down something once. Once you get into this then you can also become an Awadheshwar Arun or Munishwar Ray. Turn this movement of writing in Bajjika into a revolution. The renaissance of Bajjikanchal is impossible without writing and speaking in Bajjika.
