STORY: At first, it looked like a saga of caste conflict. A warrior (Kshatriya) clan supremacy is purported to be established over the trader (Vaishya) clan. Though, the moment you enter deep delve into the story you gotta know that it's not the hackneyed rivalry of castes rather it declares avowedly the supremacy of chastity over the mean materialistic mindset.

Sura is a beautiful girl born in the family of a king and falls in love with a boy from trader community. Both have taken education in the same school. The regal parents of the girl are very worried how a trader caste boy  will assume the desirable features of warriors befitting to the husband of the princess. the princess puts forward the idea that it is the deed and not the birth which should determine the true caste. The regal parents are convinced and calls up the parent of the boy. The boy's father is astounded seeing that the king himself is asking to let him marry his daughter to his son. The marriage ceremony is performed.

In the beginning, the father of the boy who is a trader, do not give important works to his son. But with the passage of time, he entrusts him to proceed on a journey for trade purpose. The son is allowed to take his wife along with him. They travel for the whole day and found themselves in a dense jungle at night. The princess takes out some food kept by her and feeds her husband. She feels drowsy and lays down on the ground. The husband is awake and is thinking about an old memory with the princess in childhood days of school. He remembers that the princess had insulted him when he had stolen seven silver coins from her bag just for purchasing sweets for the group of his friends. In a frenzy of taking revenge on the princess, he puts seven silver coins there and leaves her in the thick woods.

When the princess rises, she finds herself alone and is taken aback on her predicament. She beseech for help to all the forest dwellers passing through her path. Everybody castes lustful eyes on her and tries to take wrong advantage of her adversity. Sura somehow manages to keep herself safe through her martial art and courage. She pledges that even though her husband has ditched her in this dangerous forest, she would keep herself safe as well as remain chaste. Moreover, she swears that she will show how only with the seven coins an empire is created.

She disguises herself into the masculine attire and with the help of her local followers, gains control over some coastal area. Now, she imposes tax on the ships and  traders passing through her area. In a short time, she establishes a respectable empire.

One day, her husband also passes through that coast and is brought before the king i.e. Sura. Both of them identifies each other after initial hesitations. The husband is in deep remorse and asks for for forgiveness as he has paid the required tax. Sura comes under a strong impulse of emotions and says why would she collect tax from her husband. The princess remonstrates and asks how it can be justified to ditch a devoted wife in the deep forest just over a trifling childhood matter. She makes it clear that the big amount of wealth collected by her till date is only on behalf of her master i.e. husband. She further conveys that she is still chaste and devotee to her husband and did not allow any other man to touch her during the period of separation. The husband is pleasantly surprised and embraces his wife.

REVIEW: The video recording by Rajendra Sah assisted by Mukesh Choudhary is marvelous and matches the high standards of the actual performance of the play on the stage. The quality of picture is excellent and sound is audible. Moreover the subtitles adds value to the compact video clip which presents essence of play just in 14  minutes in a concise form. It would have been better if the subtitles were short so as to be comprehended by the viewers before their quick disappearance. Anyway, this video clipping on the channel 'Live Social and Cultural Events' is a feast to the eyes, mind and spirit of the viewer and that too for a minimal cost of time.

कहानी: सबसे पहले, यह जाति संघर्ष की गाथा की तरह देखा। एक योद्धा (क्षत्रिय) कबीले के वर्चस्व के व्यापारी (वैश्य) कबीले से अधिक की स्थापना हो कथित है। हालांकि जब आप कहानी के मूल में जाते हैं तो पाते हैं कि यह जाति की मामूली प्रतिद्वंद्विता नहीं है बल्कि यह भौतिकवादी मानसिकता के ऊपर आचरण की शुद्धता की सर्वोच्चता की खुलकर की गई घोषणा है।

सुरा एक राजा के परिवार में पैदा हुई एक खूबसूरत लड़की है और व्यापारी समुदाय से एक लड़के के साथ उसको प्यार हो जाता है। दोनों एक ही स्कूल में शिक्षा ले लिया है। महिला के शाही माता-पिता बहुत चिंतित हैं कि कैसे एक व्यापारी जाति लड़का राजकुमारी के पति जैसी योद्धाओं के वांछित गुणों को ग्रहण करेंगे। राजकुमारी विचार रखती है कि यह काम होता है और न कि जन्म जिससे जाति का सच  में निर्धारण करना चाहिए। शाही माता पिता के बेटी की बातों के प्रति आश्वस्त होते हैं और लड़के के पिता को बुलवाते है। लड़के के पिता यह देख रहा है कि राजा खुद उसे अपने लड़के को उसकी बेटी से शादी करने देने के लिए पूछ रहा है इसलिए चकित है। विवाह समारोह आयोजित किया जाता है।

शुरुआत में लड़का का पिता जो एक व्यापारी है अपने बेटे के लिए महत्वपूर्ण काम नहीं देते है। लेकिन समय बीतने के साथ वह उसे व्यापार प्रयोजन के लिए एक यात्रा पर आगे बढ़ने का भार सौंपते हैं। बेटा को उसके साथ उसकी पत्नी को लेने के लिए अनुमति दी जाती है। वे पूरे दिन के लिए यात्रा करते हैं और रात में एक घने जंगल में खुद को पाते हैं। राजकुमारी उसे कुछ खाने को निकालती है और उसके पति को खिलाती है। फिर उसे नींद आने लगती है और वह वहीं पड़ जाती है। पति जाग रहा है और स्कूल के बचपन के दिनों में राजकुमारी के साथ एक पुरानी स्मृति के बारे में सोच रही है। वह याद है कि राजकुमारी उसे अपमानित किया था, जब वह सिर्फ अपने दोस्तों के समूह के लिए मिठाई खरीदने के लिए उसके बैग से सात चांदी के सिक्के चोरी की थी। राजकुमारी पर बदला लेने का एक उन्माद में वह सात चांदी के सिक्के वहाँ डालता है और घने जंगल में राजकुमारी को वहीं छोड़ कर चला जाता है। जब राजकुमारी उठती है  तो वह खुद को अकेली पाती है और अपनी दुर्दशा पर दंग रह जाती है। वह सभी वन उसे रास्ते से गुजर रहने वाले लोगों को मदद के लिए गुहार करती है। हर कोई उसे वासना की दृष्टि से देखता है और उसकी विपरीत परिस्थितियों का गलत लाभ लेने की कोशिश करता है। सुरा किसी भी तरह खुद उसे मार्शल आर्ट, साहस और शारीरिक शक्ति के माध्यम से सुरक्षित रखने के लिए सफल होती है। वह वादा करती है कि हालांकि उसके पति को इस खतरनाक जंगल में उसे धोखा दिया गया है, वह खुद को सुरक्षित, पवित्र रखते हुए भी केवल सात सिक्कों से ही एक साम्राज्य स्थापित कर देगी।

वह खुद पुरुष पोशाक में रहना शुरू कर देती है और अपने स्थानीय अनुयायियों की मदद से कुछ तटीय क्षेत्र पर नियंत्रण स्थपित कर लेती है। अब वह जहाजों और व्यापारियों को उसके क्षेत्र से गुजर रहा पर कर  (टैक्स) लगाती है। इस तरह से बहुत कम समय में वह एक सम्मानजनक साम्राज्य की स्थापना कर लेती है।

एक दिन उसका पति भी उसी तट से होकर गुजरता है और राजा अर्थात सुरा के सामने लाया जाता है। उन दोनों ने प्रारंभिक हिचकिचाहट के बाद वे एक दूसरे को पहचान लेते हैं। पति गहरे पश्चाताप में है और कहता है कि उसने आवश्यक कर भुगतान किया गया है इसलिए उसे माफी दे दी जाय। सुरा भावनाओं के आवेग में आ जाती है और कहती है कि कोई पत्नी अपने पति से कर कैसे वसूल कर सकती है? वह यह स्पष्ट करती है कि धन की बड़ी राशि उसने सिर्फ अपने स्वामी अर्थात पति के लिए की है। वह आगे बता देते हैं कि वह अभी भी पवित्र और अपने पति की भक्त है और किसी भी अन्य आदमी उसे अब तक छूने के लिए अनुमति नहीं दी है। पति सुखद आश्चर्य में पड़ जाता है और अपनी पत्नी को गले लगाता है।

समीक्षा: राजेंद्र साह द्वारा वीडियो रिकॉर्डिंग मुकेश चौधरी द्वारा सहायता प्रदान की अद्भुत है और मंच पर खेलने के वास्तविक प्रदर्शन के उच्च मानकों को मेल खाता है। तस्वीर की गुणवत्ता उत्कृष्ट है और ध्वनि सुनाई देती है। इसके अलावा उपशीर्षक कॉम्पैक्ट वीडियो क्लिप है जो सिर्फ एक संक्षिप्त रूप में नाटक का सार प्रस्तुत करने के लिए 14 मिनट का समय लेता है। यह बेहतर होता अगर उपशीर्षक छोटे होते ताकि उनके त्वरित लापता होने से पहले दर्शकों द्वारा उन्हें समझा जा सकता। वैसे भी, चैनल 'लाइव सामाजिक और सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रमों' के इस वीडियो क्लिप दर्शक की आँखों, मन और  भावना के लिए एक दावत है और वह भी समय की एक न्यूनतम लागत के लिए।
