[ पालतू कुत्ते के बहाने इस सिद्धस्त कवि ने सामाजिक हाशिये पर जी रहे वंचित लोगों की स्थिति का अत्यन्त सजीव वर्णन किया है. 

In the name of Pet Dogs, this adept poet has expressed the conditions of deprived class of people suffering from social marginalization.]

कुर्सी सूंघs हे पालतू कुत्ता,

पर न कुर्सी के खेल में शामिल होवS हे ,

न कभी कुर्सी पर बैठs हे I

बस खाली कुर्सी के इशारा पर

पोछी हिला के नाचs हे पालतू कुत्ता

पालतू कुत्ता मालिक से गद्दारी कभी न कर हे I

A pet dog sniffs around a chair

But it neither participates in the game of chair

Nor does it ever sit on the chair

Only, on the instances of the chair

It dances swaying its tails

A pet dog never betrays with its master.

चाहे गली के होवे चाहे घर के,

इया देस के सीमा रेखा के,

वफादार सेवक, सजग चैकीदार

आउ सच्चा सिपाही होवs हे पालतू कुत्ता I

Either it belongs to street or to a house

Or to the border of a country,

Loyal servant, alert watcher

And true soldier, it happens to be

कुत्ता के जनम कूड़ा कचड़ा पर होवs हे

कुत्ता पानी से जादे आँसू पीयs हे,

रोटी से जादे जखम खाहे

कइसन हड्डी के नाम हे खुशी,

न जानs हे कुत्ता I

Dog takes birth on a garbage dump

Dog drinks more of tears than water

It eats more of own wounds than breads

Which kind of bone is called happiness

It never knows.

पालतू कुत्ता पैर से न

पेट से दउड़s हे,

चाहे भारत के होवे चाहे पाकिस्तान के,

चाहे नेपाल के होवे चाहे अफगानिस्तान के,

मालिक के आँख के दिशा के तरफ

जान दे देहे पालतू कुत्ता I

The pet dog runs not with feet

But with its belly

Either it may be from India or Pakistan

Either it may be from Nepal or Afganistan

It does sacrifice it's life

In the direction of master's eyes

ई कलियुग में

आदमी से जादे कुत्ता हे बिस्वासी

कुत्ता हमेशा अतीत के बिछौना पर

वर्तमान के चादर ओढ़ के सूतs हे

सपना में भविष्य के रोटी देखs हे कुत्ता I

In this 'kaligyuga' (bad time)

Dog can be trusted more than humans

Dog always sleeps covering itself with present

On the bed of past

In it's dream, dog watches bread of future

अतीत के दास हल कुत्ता,

त भविष्य के इतिहास भी हे कुत्ता

भूकम्प से मालिक के बचा लेहे कुत्ता

काहे कि सूघे में माहिर होव हे कुत्ता I

जेतने सूंघs हे ओतने जागs हे

आउ जेतने जागs हे ओतने जगावs हे I

If dog was the slave of the past

Then it is also the history of the future

Dog saves it's master from earthquake

Because it is expert in smelling

The more it smells the more it awakes

The more it awakes the more it awakens.

कवि- परिचय: राकेश प्रियदर्शी एक परिपक्व और वरीय कवि हैं जिन्होंने हिन्दी के अलावे मगही में उत्कृष्ट कवितायेँ लिखीं हैं. उनका रचनाकर्म 1990 के आसपास आरम्भ हुआ और तब से वे लगातार काव्य कर्म में जुड़े हैं. उनके कई कविता-संग्रह छप चुके हैं. उनकी मगही कवितायेँ बिहार के उच्चतर माध्यमिक स्तर में पढाई जाती हैं. राकेश प्रियदर्शी एक कुशल रेखा-चित्रकार भी हैं. वर्तमान में वे बिहार विधान परिषद में सरकारी सेवा में कार्यरत हैं. 

Introduction of the poet: Rakesh Priyadarshi a mature and senior poet in Magahi and Hindi. He has been writing poems since 1990s. A number of books have been published authored by him. Some of his poems in Magahi are part of the curriculum of  Hingher secondary level in Bihar. Rakesh Priyadarshi is also a skilled drawing-artist. At present,  he is a government employee in Bihar Vidhan Parishad.
