STORY: What the hell! An aged widower has a crush on elderly beautiful widow. 'Kambakht Ishq' raises a very pertinent question in the society. Is it a sin if persons forced to live lonely at their fag end of the life want to make a company with other similarly lonely person of opposite gender? Nevertheless, the play gives a guffaw in the very outset and each sequence gives a new boisterous laugh afresh. A flirtatious boy is getting along with a relationship with a pretty swanky girl. Later on, it is revealed that there is also a blossoming love affair between the widow mother of the girl and widower father of the boy. The young pair are shocked and perceives the relationship of the elders as immoral act. Both tries to contain the love affair of their respective parents but in vain. It is seen that several kinds of physical diseases crop up with the elderly person when they feel lonely and all the ailments evaporate once they are allowed to keep relationship with their partner. Still the young boy and girl resist forcefully and put several kinds of restriction on their respective parents.
The story takes a dramatic turns when the father of the boy declares that his female partner is now pregnant becouse of him. The boy does not believe and consult the victim mother of his girlfriend and also talk to the family doctor. All confirm that the elderly woman is pregnant because of his father. The boy laments on the ignominious act of his father and suggests for abortion. The father denies and declares that he wants the new baby in the house. The girl comes to the house of the boy for pulling caps with the boy. She is furious on the matter why her innocent mother was made pregnant by the notorious father of her boyfriend. Nevertheless she is ready to drop the issue if the father of the boy is ready to marry her mother. Finding no way out, the boy gives his consent.

Seeing her mother marrying the father of the boy, new spurt of laughter comes in when the girlfriend of the boy begins to call the boy as 'bhaiya'. The boy is shocked and realises that he has lost his best girlfriend for ever. But he also understands that he has done a greater good work by letting a genuinely needy old male getting another genuily needy female partner. In fact, a person needs a life-partner more in older age than in young age. This is only in the climax when it turns out that the pregnancy saga was just a farce to get a consent from the children.
REVIEW: The play was superbly scripted and played. The issues it raises were done justice in true sense. The actors showed their mature and adept skill in natural acting. And people were helpless to restrain their laugh throughout the play. The music, lighting, make-up and stage decoration were perfect the match the astounding performance of the whole team. Any laudation will prove less than required.
