तटस्थ (Neutral)

तुम समुद्र की तरह पुकारना

मैं पेड़ की तरह सुनूंगा

मगर अपनी जगह से

एक इंच भी नहीं हिलूंगा

You call me like a sea

I shall hear like a tree

But from my place

Won't move even an inch

पूरा ढीठ हूं मैं

ऐसा वैसा नहीं

तुजुर्बेदार

जैसे तुमने साधा है ज्वार

वैसे ही

मैंने भी आलस

जान गया हूं

कि यह बीमारी नहीं

समझदारी है

I am an absolute stubborn

Not like a Tom, Dick and Harry

Fully experienced,

Just as you have taken to tide

I have hold indolence

And have come to know

That this is not an ill

Rather, for today’s time, it’s a pill

तुम बाहर-बाहर हहाना

भीतर-भीतर समाना

जड़ों की जीभ तक

नमक-पानी पहुंचाना

You make noise from outside

And get deep into me

Bringing salt and water

To the tongues of the roots

मगर मैं तुम्हारे लिए

सिर्फ सूखे पत्ते गिराऊँगा

और दुनिया को बताऊँगा

कि तुझे क्या परवाह

मेरे रोके ही रुकती है

तूफान की राह

But I will drop for you Only dry leaves

And shall tell the whole world

About you need not care

That for stopping hurricane

Here I am who dare

और जब सचमुच तूफान आएगा

मैं हिलूंगा

और उखड़ जाउंगा

फिर पता नहीं

कहां जाकर गिरूंगा

तुम पुकारते रहोगे

समुद्र की तरह

मगर मैं

पेड़ की तरह नहीं सुनूंगा

And when a hurricane comes such a big

Who moves me

I would be rooted out

Then, I don’t know

Where will I go to fall down

You would be calling me like a sea

No one would be there to hear like me

Introduction of the poet: Dr. Vinay Kumar is a renowned Psychiatrist at Manoved Mind Hospital, Patna. He is an excellent contemporary writer in Hindi and 'Amrapali aur anya kavitayen', 'Kanze-tahjeeb ek duniya hai' and 'Ek manochikitsak ki diary' have been published by him before the latest collection of thematic self-composed poems 'Mall me kabootar'. Dr. Vinay Kumar is having a distinguished space in Hindi literature for his effective and easily conveyable style of writing which always keep a strong grip on the main challenges faced by the society and nation.
