इक लौ उम्मीद की है और तूफ़ान से लड़ना है,

मेरे यक़ीन को यारो गुमान से लड़ना है,

I have a flame of hope and a storm to defeat

As my determination is fighting my conceit

जिस्म लोहे का और दिल बना हो पत्थर का,

इक आदमी को तो पूरे जहान से लड़ना है,

Body must be of iron with a heart of stone

As man has to fight the whole world, definite

दुश्मन मेरे हो मगर दोस्त से भी अच्छे हो,

गले मिलो तो ज़रा इत्मीनान से लड़ना है,

You are my enemy but not less a good friend

Come and embrace before in battleground we meet

करेंगे क़त्ल मेरा लोग तेग़ो ख़ंजर से,

मगर मुझे तो बस मुस्कान से लड़ना है,

People will kill me with their sword and daggers

But here I am all smiles with me to beat

तेरा ये हौसला सबसे बड़ा है सरमाया ,

क़दम-क़दम पे तुझे इम्तिहान से लड़ना है,

This, your courage is the biggest capital of yours

With this you have to clear all the exams, well neat 

किसी के घर की हो बेटी तो एक चिड़िया है,

ज़रा सी जान को इस आसमान से लड़ना है,

If the daughter is at someone’s house, she’s a bird

And this little creature has to fight sky indefinite 

जानो दिल से चाहा था किसी वक़्त तुझे,

इक रोज़ आओ के दिलो जान से लड़ना है,

I had loved you wholehearted at some point of time

Now come before me, I have to wage a war concrete  

ये ज़िंदगी है क्या परखते रहो ख़ुद ही को,

सबको ज़मीर के मीज़ान से लड़ना है ,

Such strange is  life, keep testing yourself

On scales of conscience, see whether you right?

कवि-परिचय: कुमार पंकजेश एक उत्कृष्ट रचनाकार हैं और पटना में रहते हैं. इनकी गज़लें काफी संजीदगी के साथ जिंदगी का बयाँ करती हैं. इनके अनेक लेख सम्मानित अखबारों और पत्रिकाओं में प्रकशित हो चुके हैं. ये सी.आर.डी. पटना पुस्तक मेला के प्रेस प्रवक्ता हैं. और ‘हिन्दुस्तान’ और ‘प्रभात खबर’ जैसे प्रतिष्ठित अखबारों में काम करने का इन्हें वृहत अनुभव है.

Introduction of the Poet: Kumar Pankajesh is an excellent writer and poet and lives in Patna. His gazals presents very poignant analysis of life. His articles have been published in reputed newspapers and magazines.  He has been media coordinator of CDR Patna Book Fair and has a long experience of working with widely circulated newspapers like 'Hindustan' and 'Prabhat Khabar'.
