राष्ट्रीय स्तर के प्रसिद्ध कवि शहंशाह आलम की कविता -पहाड़ (Hindi poem of Shahanshah Alam with English translation )

पहाड़ (Mountain)

    शहंशाह आलम भारत के एक प्रसिद्ध कवि हैं. हिन्दी साहित्य की शीर्ष पत्रिकाओं में से प्रत्येक ने इनकी कविताओं को बार-बार प्रकाशित किया है और इनके रचनाकर्म की अतुल्य उर्वरा शक्ति को देखते हुए कहा जा सकता है कि यह क्रम जारी रहेगा. स्तरीय रचनाकर्म में इनकी गति अत्यन्त तीव्र है. इनकी कविताओं की पांच पुस्तकें प्रकाशित हो चुकी हैं जिनके नाम हैं -'गर दादी की कोई खबर आए', अभी शेष है पृथ्वी राग', 'अच्छे दिनों में ऊँटनियों का कोरस', 'वितान' और 'इस समय की परिकथा'.. इनकी कविताएँ निडर, बेबाक और समसामयिक विषयों से सीधे-सीधे जूझनेवाली हैं. ये केवल एक राजनैतिक विचारक नहीं  हैं बल्कि जीवन की सादगी और प्रकृति के निर्मल सौंदर्य की ओर भी इनका झुकाव उल्लेखनीय है।

    Shahanshah Alam is a renowned poet of India. Each of the top Hindi magazines in pure literature have published his poems again and again. In view of his prolific and sublime writing skills, it can be said that this will continue for much longer. Five of his books have been published - 'Gar Dadi ki koi khabar aaye', 'Abhi shesh hai prithwi-raag',  'Achchhe dino me untniyon ka koras', 'Vitaan', and 'Is samay ki parikatha'. His poems are fearless, straightforward and fighting with the contemporary issues . He is not merely a political think-tank, his inclination towards simplicity of life and serene beauty of the nature is also remarkable. 

तुम भी गर्व कर सकते हो

पहाड़ बनकर अपने जीवन-क्रम में

गिरने से बचा सकते हो

शाश्वत और अनूठा सब कुछ
You can also feel proud 

Being a mountain in your daily routine

You can save to fall down 

Eternal and unique every thing

हितैषी मित्र-अमित्र न भी चाहें

परिजन न भी चाहें

तुम्हारा स्मरण-संस्मरण न भी चाहे

तुम अनंतकाल से खड़े पहाड़ बनकर 

खदेड़ सकते हो निडर कठिन इस वक़्त को 

Even though your well-wisher friend and foe may not like

Your family members may not like

Your memory-and memoirs may not like

You can expel this difficult time being fearless

तुम भी गर्व कर सकते हो

अगर प्रतीक्षा कर पाए

पहाड़ी बरसात पहाड़ी वसंत की

वृक्ष-नृत्य जंगल-गान की प्रतीक्षा कर सके

प्रार्शना कर सके पक्षियों के झुंड के पक्ष में 

फेंक सके पहाड़ को लेकर

अपने भीतर की उदासीनता

You can also feel proud

If you could wait for

The hilly rain and hilly spring

If you could wait for dance of trees and song of jungle
If you could pray for flock of birds
If you could throw your conscientious indifference
About the issues of mountain

पहाड़ थकता नहीं तुम्हारी तरह

पहाड़ घुटता नहीं तुम्हारी तरह

पहाड़ रोता नहीं तुम्हारी तरह

पहाड़ डरता नहीं तुम्हारी तरह

The mountain never tires like you

the mountain never kneels like you

The mountain never weeps like you

The mountain never fears like you 

पहाड़ हमारी ध्वनि-प्रतिध्वनि पर चौंकता है

जीवित आदमी की तरह

The mountain startles on our sounds and echos
Just like a man alive

तुम भी गर्व कर सकते हो 

बचा सके अगर धूप पानी हवा को

बूँद-बूँद चूते शहद को

You can also feel proud

If you could save the sun, water and air

The honey dropping in small blobs

बचा सके अगर संगीत को 

पिता की साइकिल को

अपने प्रेम और इस पृथ्वी को 

If you could save the music

The bicycle of the father

Your love and this earth

तुम भी गर्व कर सकते हो 

बिना दुभाषिए की मदद लिए 

व्यक्त कर सके 

पहाड़ के जल और वायु को

पहाड़ के स्वर और आयु कोI

You can also feel proud

Without the help of a translator

That you could express

The water and wind of  mountain

The voice and age of  mountain.
